The NFL players unions has the right on an annual basis to vote out an arbitrator. Turns out the date was up in the last couple days. When the results of the arbitration were released, the NFLPA immediately voted Mr. Bloch "off the island", in other words fired him. To me, if this is true the NFL has another serious problem to work on. Arbitrator would have a serious personal conflict of interest in ruling against a player in the future.

What I have heard is that the arbitrators have a one year contract. They can be renewed, or not. They just are not going to renew his contract.
In case everyone missed it, he was also the arbitrator in the Ricky Williams bonus case.
