Why did you start visiting the first one you did?
I did a search on the so called "moon landing hoax" and a thread from a message borad debunking it pont by point popped up. I started visiting regularly and signed up after a few days.
What exactly stimulated you to start posting/browsing regularly?
There were a variety of topics to talk about, and I could pick and choose which ones to join and ignore those where I wouldn't be comortable.
What is it about TFP that keeps you coming back?
Mostly the other people, and the variety of interesting topics.
What draws you to any other boards you regularly visit?
One my wife runs. Another deals with comic books. Others I just occasionally browse.
Are you a lurker? Do you almost always feel motivated to give your opinion? Do you post about everything?
I read far more than I post. I probably post about half the time I get the urge to share my opinion. I'll start a reply, then when it's done, delete it if I'm not satisfied, which is maybe 1/2 the time.
What benefits have you gotten from being around message boards?
Information. Understanding how other people think. Social interaction without the pressure of personal contact. A long-distance girlfriend. Emotional support.
