The metal (inside) is supposed to touch the pin it's supposed to be connected to. So you have a bunch of pins sticking out of the motherboard and connectors that are like plastic boxes with holes in one end and wires out the other end. You just put together the correct pin in the hole and that's it, no metal should be exposed. I can't picture where the confusion is coming from. It's simple; don't think about it too hard and do what the manual says. ![Wink](/tfp/images/smilies/wink.gif)
