I remember when Pete Rose was my favorite player and I switched to being a Phillies fan. Back in 1980 they were at their peak in a way I have not seen any other sports town since.
Between 1979-81, I believe, they had won the World Series, the Stanley Cup, the NFC, and the 76er's lost to the Lakers in the NBA finals.
Since then, Philly truly hasn't been much of a threat to win anything (they may have a team go somewhere for a year then fall apart the next)..... but those few years were glorious......
