To summarize the press conference (also known as the pre-free agency mea culpa):
TO:" I apologize to everyone. I want to play for the Eagles this week."
Rosenhaus:"He's sorry. He wants to play football. He is a great citizen. I love this man."
Reporter:"Drew, do you think your attempt at a renogotiation was the start of the problems?"
Rosenhaus:"Next question."
Reporter:Poignant question (you fill in the rest)
Rosenhaus:"Next question." or "I can't comment on that. But let me reiterate, he wants to play for the Eagles this week against Dallas. He's apologetic."

Eagles fans are consistent in certain areas:
1. A 2-14 season is not a total loss if the two wins come against the Cowboys.
2. Defense is where a winning team starts.
3. Play all out until you are out of it. ("For who, for what?" - if you are an Eagles fan you know who said this.)
4. Don't embarass us off the field.
Because he played every game with his full ability, he had some supporters, even during the contract issues in preseason. But there is only so much you can take. Philly sports fans are probably the most loyal and knowledgable ones out there. We'll name multiple children after winning teams - just ask the Stanley Cup Flyers teams from the 70's who are still getting drinks for free at any bar in town. Just keep your mouth shut about a succesful organization.
Until last week, I still held out hope he would play next year. Now, my biggest hero is the pizza delivery guy who left the tip on the doorstep since he felt Owens was more in need of the money to feed his family than his own.
