be your own boss? umm no.. the guards tell you what and when to do things... they are the boss.
If you are in NYC I have a friend who's husband is a prison guard at Rikers Island and I can setup a meeting for you.
Having spent a day or two in county lockup in my past (what can I say I lived a colorful life)... I can say that it's not somewhere you want to be for any extended period of time.
