tspikes, you really need to restudy history and this time pay a little closer attention. Yes it is true that every race or "people" have been disadvantaged, and if not all in slavery enough to say just about all. However, the scale and the effect of black owned slaves, especially on America, is not even comparable. The slave trade of Africans in the past several hundred years was the second greatest crime against humanity of all time( the first, of course, would the mass genocide of the native American populations as well of the native populations of hundreds of islands in the same time period). Your whitewashing of history is the very reason you hold such an ignorant thought process that black people are some how spontaneously born racist and should simply drop the race card and get over it. You are also ignoring the fact that, as I pointed out in my first post, it did not end at slavery, far from it in fact. The entire point of my first post is this, there is a legitimate historical reason that race relations are in the state they are in today. Only be looking at what has happened in the past and realizing that maybe there is a reason that some black people mistrust the goverment (Could it be they would have let him be enslaved 200 years ago? Or that members of the goverment where openly members of the KKK barely 75 years ago? And that even if they were not alive to see that their parents or grandparents where and they feel the effects through their economy, education and health) To say that racism is something that a person(Black, white or pink) should just get over is ignorant to say the least and possibly racist in its own right. One last thing, on the fact that other people have been enslaved, yea so what? So if say China started attacking America tomorow and took half the population as slaves we should be okay with that because "hey we're not the first people its happened to" ? All I am saying is just because an injustice happens somewhere, doesn't mean its any less an injustice when it happens again.
