My perpetually unhappy father-in-law (career wise) has made a bucket load of money being a facilities manager, and in less than half a year, selling real estate. He wants to work at a 911 call center (he also used to be an EMT and cop) because it's the only place that everybody seems to enjoy their work. I'd probably go crazy.
Until October 28th, I am a program director/journalist at a regional public radio network on the southeast coast. After October 28th I will either be a talk show producer or a manager of news/talk programming at a public radio station in a much bigger city and will be starting work on an M.A. in journalism.
Good thread idea! I'm amazed at some of the fun jobs. This one -->First job is working part-time (3 or 4 days a week) at the Royal Conservatory of Music bookstore. would thrill me to no end. I love music bookstores. My favorite in college was
Brodt (linky) which is now owned by one of my former classmates.
