Those definitions also suggest that Fate is a force that drives one's Destiny... i.e. Destiny is applied to the specific individual while Fate is larger force that drives that Destiny.
It also suggests though that in use they are synonyms...
"It is Fate that has lead me to my Destiny"
but your could say: "Fate lead me to my fate."
It's just not as well written the second time.
