Personally, I would have had one adult go with them in the helicopter. I wouldn't have taken "no" for an answer.
What I'm not sure about is what happened to the kids after they got on the helicopter. Did the people in the copter just dump the kids somewhere and take off or did they escape from some shelter? I think I missed that part of the story.
I wouldn't be surprised if those parents are talking law suit... Not that I condone it just that it wouldn't be unexpected.
