It's more than an imablance, and definitely not upbringing. A socioopathic brain that can function without any negative emotion, even while recounting murders he committed, is probably structured differently. It's probably a "crossed wire" type of thing that prevents the mind from processing guilt, compassion, and remorse. There's no way that a normal person could be made to do that simply due to an imbalance or upbringing.
