I did that too, and still had problems. A few people in the thread had the sentence with their user name in it have a period at the end, but I didn't add the period to the user name [so I don't know if some people intentionally have a period at the end of their user name]
I went through my list and quite a few came up as user does not exist:
phredgreen
rockzilla
mr self destruct's name
the king's
jeffmd
macguyver [caps lock]
hal's
BoCo
plus a few others - too lazy to type them all out.
