haven't heard caribou yet. i like the new four tet, although i think his madvillain remixes ep has better grooves. seems like he is one of the artists (like beck, white stripes, NIN, sigur ros, sufjan stevens) who released a very good yet not world-shaking album this year. all of these acts have honed their craft and continue to make great music...and at the same time, i wasn't completely blown away by any one of them.
