I must say, the advice from everyone in this post has been really good. When it comes to my friends, I'm blazing the trail here, so I haven't been able to go to them.
Just an update, we did a little talking last night after the fireworks. I think at the very least, I have someone I can make out with after a night of drinking. Which is kind of nice, because that tends to be when I want to do that sort of thing the most.
