Have you done the normal spyware scans with Spybot and Adaware? I would also run your virus scanner as well, and all in safe mode to make sure it is gone.

And I also hate*when* people who suggest OpenOffice and Linux as solutions to problems. If the question is, "What is a good alternative to Microsoft Office?" THEN you could suggest that.
