If you're inside of your internal network, you need to FTP to the box's IP address that's running the FTP server (as you won't need to forward ports if it's internal traffic). If you're outside of your network, you'd just enter your external IP (which will hit your router first, then forward that traffic to the box with the FTP server on it, providing you forwarded the correct ports to the correct address.)
