I actually thought Tyson would be KOed by McBride (before the fight started). His promoters are incredibly inept in giving him back-to-back superheavyweights considering his history of problems with bigger guys. It's not like it really mattered though; if he had beaten a few smaller-sized cans it would have just set him up for a thrashing by someone like Lamon Brewster. Seeing him try to DQ his way out of the fight was sad and even more so when he had to voluntarily quit.
I acknowledge Tyson as an extremely overrated boxer, but I've never despised him, strangely enough. Reading the ESPN article and many other Tyson interviews, it is clear he is not delusional about being an awful person, boxer, father, or husband. I somehow doubt he'll actually take up missionary work, but if he manages to fall off the radar and live a quiet existence, I'll be impressed.
