Look at mick doohan, his leg was dying after post-op complications to the point where they had to graft the other leg to it for adequate blood supply, then had to get the nerves severed in his leg/foot just below his knee, his ankle locked in a fixed position, and the tendons severed in all his toes because they kept cramping up involuntarily.
Then he world five 500cc world grand prix championships.
I reckon they'll plate those bones back together without too many dramas. It'll probably take a while to get back up to fitness but I don't think that looks too bad.
