--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just thought I'd share a very sickening incident from the weekend's AFL action. The player in question is the Richmond vice-captain Nathan Brown. The guy is an absolute freak and one of the best to play the game, and a really nice bloke to boot. I remember going up to him when he played for the Western Bulldogs with a mate who supports them while having a quiet beer at The Spread Eagle in Melbourne. He obviously wanted to be left alone but was polite enough to have a 5 minute conversation with us (which I said very little) and was a real nice fella.
Anyway, in the last quarter a Demons player tried to smother the ball as Browny was kicking it and ended up snapping his Tibia and Fibula bones in half. Dunno if you's have seen a replay, but it was sickening. Thought I'd share a couple of photos just in case you guys haven't seen it yet... the first one is the actual moment it broke and the second one 10 seconds after it.
An interesting side note is that the guy never made a sound. He was getting stretchered off the ground and was just looking at his leg, shaking his head. Freak.
