It's not actually.
You can have up to 4 wired connections.
You can have up to 254 wireless connections; indeed you can have more, but are limited by the Class C network provided by the DHCP network.
But,
in total, you can only have 254 connections
simulataneously, whether they're a mix of wired or wireless.
