Don't let it get to you; people can seriously be real assholes- even the bosses. My boss is extremely self-absorbed, and makes hurtful comments at and to me in front of customers and other co-workers.
In real life, you are SUPPOSED to become attached to your job- it's something that gives you a paycheck, you make friends there, and you learn and gain experience there. But the good part about it, is that you were only there for eight months. You have a new job you are going into (and have many positive co-workers and clientele backing you up), and so you can start over.
