If there's no chance of an STD it could just be some mild irritation. POSSIBLY Jock Itch. If you get some Clortrimazole and rub that on it could help. That's a mild antifungal and rarely causes any trouble but can eliminate your problem quickly. You did say it wasn't painful but you didn't specifically say whether it itched at all. Sometimes Jock Itch doesn't start out with itching.
Other possibility could be a new allergy of some sort to detergents you're using. Did you buy any new underware and not wash before using? Sometimes the chemicals used in manufacturing clothes can be irritating to the skin. It could be a lot of things. Look at whatever you're doing differently and change it. If it is a mild allergic reaction (even more possible if it's itchy or gets raised patches, hives, eventually) then you can take some claritan or benedryl and see if that helps.
If it gets worse, becomes painful or itchy and nothing else helps then get thee to a Doc after a few days. Don't let it go long. Any one of the above situations can get quite painful if you let them go.
Otherwise if it's not an STD then I have no other ideas. Good Luck.
