I had a pretty successful time with that drawing of Scott and I, but now I'm looking for a more cartoony-comic feel to this picture that I have.
Instead of having that realistic feel with the shadows that match the drawing using overlays, multiply, etc. I'm trying to get something more blockish almost. The shading will obviously be stronger and more squared off then what I have right now. So here's some comparison images:

Here's what I had originally after messing around with photoshop for a while and making it look semi-realistic with normal-esque skin tones:

The idea is to figure out how to make that kind of shading off of what I have. I figure since I already have shadows sketched on I can easily references them, but I'm not entirely sure where to get started to pull this off.
Any thoughts on how I could go about doing this?
