The NDP will get some seats back (they make a good opposition) but thankfully, they won't form government.

I think I just heard my Polst prof cheer...
WOW, what an incredible system. I like it, and I think it speaks to some of the deadwood we have in our legislative assemblies now.
A couple of questions:
1. I have seen peoples handwriting, and the advantage of having an 'X' in the appropriate circle is justified. I can see the fight of "It's a number 1 you fool!" and the reply "No, it's a 7! Look how long that top line is!" How would the STV system address the human interaction problems?
2. How much longer would it take to count the votes here? In the age of satelites, the internet and our instant gratification, the delay in results under the new system would be a cause for concern.
3. If I read the report properly, there would be fewer ridings and more representatives in each riding... I like the idea. Having 2 or 3 people represent me is exciting. I have suffered as a XXXXX in a riding where YYYYY got elected, and I gave up hope for ever getting my opinion heard. Would there be an open revolt?
4. Is everyone of the opinion that increased citizen participation is a good thing? What if the smart people are in charge, and the ignorant masses elect Pauly Shore because they think he is 'Da Bomb'? I am not sure I want the rednecks to have a larger say around here.
