Momartre, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysee, Latin Quarter... I'd also take a wander into Pigalle. But... if you want to go to Pigalle (the red light district) you should do it first. It has loads of sqalid charm but more importantly it will let you appreciate everything else that much more...
I agree with onesnowyowl... let the city guide you. Get a good map (in case you get lost) and a good guide book (so you know what you are looking at when you see something cool)...
