Tonight I was sitting out on the front porch of my apartment with a couple of friends who were having a cigarette when somebody above us started to pee off their balcony and onto my roomates car.

I told my roomate about this and we went upstairs to have words with whoever was responsible. When we walk up, there are a bunch of people outside and the guy who lives there starts going off on us with comments like "nobody pissed on your car, oh wait, maybe she did" and "We will piss on any cars we want to." So I get stuck trying to tell this guy to shut the fuck up, while trying to keep my 260 lb roomate from throwing this guy off the balcony. When my roomate told him that all he wanted was an apology from whomever was responsible and a promise not to do it again, the guy starts cursing and refuses to apologize for anything.

After a couple minutes of this, a guy walks up and says that he was the one who peed off the balcony, and he apologized and promised not to do it again. After a couple more minutes dealing with the first guys bravado, we extricate ourselves and go back downstairs to our place.

A little while later, I went to the supermarket to get something for dinner. When I got back, I found out that they had once again pissed on my roomates car, and my roomate had called the police.

Oh, he had to clean 'sticky' stuff off of his car a couple weeks ago too.

I guess what botheres me the most was the complete lack of respect for anybody else shown by these people tonight.

How do you guys deal with situations like this? I mean, situations where you have to choose between pummeling the snot out of someone, calling the police, or instead trying to avoid a confrontation all together?

Oh, and they also got the car belonging to the guy who lives below us and just moved in a couple days ago.
