I personally think that some folks fail to see that not agreeing with an argument is not the same as not understanding it.
Also, I see many opinions presented as fact and many complex situations distilled down to simplistic arguments.
I personally enjoy it when I get into a conversation that can focus on the nuances of a situation without the usual overhead of one or both posters needing to "win" the argument.
Unfortunately, that is as rare here as it is in most places.
That is also what makes such threads stand out and even more enjoyable.
