actually a windows BSOD gives a lot more information than the guru meditation ever did, basically a GM was just the software or hardware failure code + the address it happened at, a BSOD not only gives you that but a stack trace and program/kernel space as well.
the A1200 did make it to the states, but it was the end of life for amiga commerically around that point, and the amiga was never as popular in the states as it was in europe.
just in case i get flamed for the bsod vs GM i am big amiga fan, like i said still use my A4000 ex member of one of the larger amiga demo groups, ex team17 and did TFX amiga.
