I think you misunderstood...
Yes, of course it should be centred... no question.
But the lines that read:
Quote:
TO BEAR WITNESS TO THEIR JOINING OF THEIR HEARTS, SOULS
BE IT FURTHER KNOWN THAT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY
MEDIEVAL/RENAISSANCE/SCOTTISH STYLE GARB WELCOME BUT NOT REQUIRED
|
...are all too close to the edges of the page. The margin is almost non-existant. As a result it looks too crowded on the page.
What I was suggesting is that you either use a smaller font size (so the words don't take up so much space) or break those lines in half:
Quote:
TO BEAR WITNESS TO
THE JOINING OF THEIR HEARTS, SOULS
BE IT FURTHER KNOWN
THAT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY
MEDIEVAL/RENAISSANCE/SCOTTISH STYLE GARB WELCOME
BUT NOT REQUIRED
|
In doing this, the text is *more* centred on the page than it currently is...
Another rule of thumb:
The empty space at the top and bottom of a page should be same.
The empty space at the left and right side should be the same. (note: this doesn't be making the text justified, it means that parts of your text that stick out the furthest should be equidistant from the edges)
