Alright, now...I'm a classical musician, and I DO like music from the 20th century (I love Dmitri Shostakovich and Arvo Part, and I could forgive some others) but I have a big problem with the trends classical music is stuck in. First, 12 tone stuff - Schoenberg...WTF?
Next, John Cage and Music Concrete...Argg
Then, pretty much everyone else who just sort of throws shit together in a haphazard attempt to make things sound as bad as possible-atonality, etc.
Can anybody acquainted with this (is there anybody) explain why all these jerks think they know what music is?!
