LMAO! There is a big discussion on my cigar forum about whether or not to leave your bands on the cigars. It has always been considered good etiquette to take off the bands. However, now that it is becoming common practice to unroll cigar wrappers to roll blunts, people are getting concerned. The discussion started when a member got pulled over because he was smoking a cigar. The cop inspected it to ensure that it hadn't been "rerolled". Now people are starting to leave the bands on, even if it is in bad taste, to show they are smoking a stogie, not a blunt. Probably over-reacting; but hey, what are forums for!

FYI, it is considered in bad taste to leave bands on after the first few minutes. I guess because it is bragging about what you are smoking. After smoking for a few minutes, the band will heat up and can be removed without harm to the wrapper. In Europe, it is almost universal to take off the band, while it is sporadic in the US.
