I've given iTunes a try on Windows, and I'm not glad I did. It took over things without asking me (and I'm very anal about looking out for that stuff on installation - it's one of the reasons I don't complain about RealPlayer since I catch everything while it installs). Not to mention I have no reason to use the iTunes music store when I can just get songs for free elsewhere.
Apple is trying to pull the same crap that Real did for awhile, making it difficult to get the free standalone version of their softaware. When I go to Real's site, I want to be able to see clearly where to go to get the free version of RealPlayer, and when I go to Apple's site, I shouldn't be forced to download and install two programs in order to get one.
