Okay. Time for me to come clean. I borrowed this "story" from someone who I consider radical in the area of conspiracies. I wanted to illustrate that there is a difference between a conspiracy, and paranoia. If you haven't picked up on it yet, the DC sniper conjectures posted above are part of a paranoid view of the world. The numbered facts (riddled with conjecture) above are at most coincedental. They do not form any sort of case against the official report.
1. "Timing". This was coincedental by any reasonable standard. Debates like this in congress are normal. They happen from time to time, and they are not out of the ordinary.
2. Brainwashing was a stretching of the truth. TheKak pointed that out. Kudos.
3. Whitness reports. TheKak also pointed out that conflicting whitness reports are very much common, espicially in cases like this.
4. Federalization. This was unfortunate, but wholely necessary. They helped a great deal in catching the guilty parties and were working towards justice.
5. FBI agent. Another coincedence. There are plenty of federal agents and employees in that area. It was just her unfortunate luck.
6. Quick response. Once again, hat's offf to you TheKak.
7. Traffic. dX927 called this one pretty well.
8. Getaway. There is not enough information to make that call.
I sincerly apologize to anyone who might feel a bit used by this, but you all did pretty well in difusing the test. I decided to do this because in my looking for information on possible consipracies, I kept running into bogus claims like this. I'm hoping that other people don't get sucked into fairy tales like this one.
Look for coincedences, assumptions, jumps in logic, lack of evidence, and extreme conclusions if you happen to be looking through a conspiracy theory.
