I live in the area and at the time, I remember seeing white vans galore when they were covering the story. I casually made a comment to a friend of mine one day "Y'know, I betcha that those guys are in some kinda sedan, and that people are just seeing all of these vans, simply because they're everywhere and only now taking notice that there are five million of these things." I should go work for the FBI or something....
