I won't discount global warming, but some scientists have said that we are coming out of an ice age, which would account for increasing temperatures. Remember that ice ages last for hundreds of thousands of years, which is far outside the scope of recorded human history. Still, it doesn't change the fact that it's roughly 60°F in Colorado, in the winter, which is much warmer than normal.
