Actually Titanium is softer, weaker and less dense than steel. It also has the tendency to gall much like aluminium. Gall basically means it smudges and peels for lack of a better description when rubbed. This is why bearing and bearing races cannot be made from titanium. However Titanium Dioxide is a popular metal treatment that is often applied to steel drillbits and other tools to decrease wear. BTW this is the same active ingredient that is used in sunscreen. The the average lay person, titanium is protrayed as some super metal, which it is not. It has its advantages and its disadvantages, but solid titanium shaving blades are not one of them.
