I've done this waaaay too often, actually. Due to lack of options, not preference. It's not too bad, once you get into a comfortable position. Dark places are obviously a must. A "friend" of mine and I used to go to park near an old house on a very very light traffic road...we stopped going there after she saw a ghost there (don't ask). So now we use a dark cul-du-sac (no pun intended) outside of my town. It's worked so far....
