Valium has too long a half-life and is more often used for siezures, vertigo, and muscle conditions these days. Remember, all of them have serious effects on memory. Versed is a very short term iv benzo used for conscious sedation during procedures. Not very many people remember their colonoscopies (although trust me, they are awake the whole time). Valium will affect your scholastic performance, but you may not know it.

I am not saying you should not be given an Rx for a benzo. There is no way for me to know that over the internet. What I am trying to do is make you rethink your misconceptions before you see your doctor.
