See, this is why they tell you not to throw a toaster in the bathtub. The correct to throw in isn't because of a killswitch, but due to the metal chassis of the toaster (and a grounding line - which many toasters don't have). Throwing a plastic toaster will kill you. But you're right, the general advice of not throwing a toaster in the bathtub is sound enough for most people.
I wasn't suggesting that people throw toasters into the bathtub, just that fully understanding why you should or shouldn't do something makes life much more interesting!
