I don't see this as a racist comment, more a frustrated generalisation. I too find it annoying that we have stacks of people who have chosen to live in our country but have not bothered to learn the customs or even the language.
I would never dream of moving to a non-english speaking country and not bother to learn their language and customs, I would feel it was my duty to fit in as well as I possibly could if I intended to stay there for any period of time longer than just a holiday.
It bothers me that there are some areas of Sydney which I feel scared to visit because of the gang issues (and I am the wrong race to be a member in these gangs) and it is also frustrating that in these areas I cannot read any of the shop signs or communicate with any of the shop attendants, because I am a mere Aussie.
Having said all that, I love a lot of aspects of our multiculturalism, it's just these issues which really piss me off!
