If not from "the Creator" then they were created by man. If they were created by man, then the only thing that makes them stand the test of time is that the majority in any given society have agreed to uphold them. Right?

It's a slightly more verbose way of saying "My right to extend my arm ends at the tip of your nose." That's as basic as you can get without allowing for abuse of others. Some may argue that privacy and property aren't really rights, but I feel that the guarantee to those is an essential part of human nature.
