simple answer: Better security
next simple answer: It isn't made by microshit err microsoft..
also the features that are on FF are much better. Live Bookmarks, Tabbed browsing and the great extensions make it a much better browser by far. I say check it out and see what you think. If you don't like it unistall it, but I'd be willing to bet you make you it your default browser
