Conformity to a central image or though often occurs at the loss of individuality and self expression. I've seen many times the people who rebel from "conformity" as they see it, often end up falling in their own trap of conformity in the rebellion. A member of the state legislature here in Arizona once told me that the best person to know is the opposite voice, as their contradiction CAN have validation at certain points. Your job from that point, as an intelligent human being, is to examine that conflict with what you have experienced, draw your conclusions, and gor forth with the extended knowledge. I agree that total conformity makes me think of a zombie state. It's very hard to believe that people do not have different opinions and are just merely not voicing them. That choice to lack of voice, though, is what is holding them back, only to ruin themselves.
