Lasereth- Funny, I picked up Fire Emblem and played through the main story, but it pretty much bored me, too easy, and the story was stale!
A vote for Golden Sun and its sequel, though, both wonderful RPG's that you can carry around in your backpack
Castlevania Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance I've played, and found both very addictive. I would go with any of these..
