That's a lot of stereotypes in one, CityofAngels (and Slimshaydee).
1. Plenty of women make love, personal integrity and self-respect a higher priority in life than gaining money. They are everywhere. I am one, and my mother was before me.
2. Many women don't bother with hairstylists. I am one of them - I trim my own hair and have never been to a hair salon, and I look just fine.
3. Many women don't get their nails done and even think the current trends in manicures and fake nails are ugly, frivolous and ludicrous. No desire to impersonate a raptor today, thank you.
4. One look at the "Girly Girl" thread in the ladies lounge will show that accessories and handbags are not always that high of a priority for women. Are TFP women the exception to the rule? Perhaps, but we are real so we count.
5. Hmm, not so sure this is a negative stereotype, paying the rent and utilities makes a lot of sense but should be a lot higher on the list I think.
5(b). Many women are acutely aware of the "nagging wife" stereotype that has been drummed into all of our psyches for decades and go to great lengths to avoid even remotely coming across as the dreaded nagging shrew. Women are quite conscious of the role they play in the lives of the men they are involved with and many make the effort to remain approachable. Many others just pay the rent themselves, especially if they are single mothers for example.
6. Kids must be fed, not to do so would constitute serious abuse or neglect. Any mother who is not severely broken will put this near or at the top of her list of priorities! Although I personally don't know, from what I hear, mothers tend to love their kids more than life itself and make their care an urgent necessity.
Stereotype: Men are insensitive to things of beauty and have no aesthetic sensibilities.
