OK, I'll take a shot at this one.
Eleven years ago, I was approached by a woman at work who I had not met before (I should clarify I was still a student at the time). She asked a lot of what I would consider very personal questions........topics like family, religion etc. I must have had the right answers, because a few weeks later she is showing me pictures of her very attractive daughter. I in no way wanted to go on a blind date with the daughter of someone I was working with. She persisted, however and eventually I gave in because she was so good at pestering me. My plan was to call and go on one date, then politely withdraw from the situation.
When I called her daughter the poor girl was mortified. She had no idea her mom was shopping her around at work. We talked a few minutes. She seemd nice enough, and also wanted her mom off her back, so we agreed to go out and "get it over with". We went out to an arts fair, and enjoyed ourselves so we did a quick dinner after that.
As I said, that was 11 years ago. Almost 7 of those are now married years. Couldn't have worked out better.
Moral of the story: People who are really close to you can have amazing insight into who is right for you. Don't be quick to ignore them.
