I was born and raised outside of Philly. Its pretty much common knowledge that Pat's and Geno's are not 'real' cheesesteaks, but rather tourist trap type places that mass produce the sandwhiches. You can tell that by the two foot high pile of meat they have piled up waiting to make sandwhiches with...yech! If you want a real cheesesteak, the most famous place is probably Jim's on South St. I MUCH prefer the mom-and-pop type places that make them TO ORDER. And cheese whiz is disgusting. Any decent cheesesteak should have freshly melted american.
