Probably because the President of the USA is much more in the spotlight than the PM of CA?
If you asked me the PM of CA's name before now, I would've drawn a blank. Why? Because it doesn't really matter to me, just like it doesn't really matter to you what our president's name is. You just hear it more often, so of course you'll know. Do you know the leader of Nigera/Ecuador/Japan? I don't.
