the latest victim object:
a new tabletop with only a couple of layers of primer coat

that will go atop these table legs from a wonderful old chippendale table my mom basically mutilated 3 decades ago... just for the sake of being able to put a tablecloth & cheap glass top over. tsk

the black laquer craze all began with this 19" diameter clock...

it was a dark walnut color with a gold trim band like a filet.
that was not going to work with my new decorating scheme.
enter black laquer spray paint!
then i did this old antique dining chair that i bought 15 yrs ago for $12.

i still need to hit the fabric store & find something wonderful to re-cover the seat with.
i've done a few picture frames.

that's an old chalk pastel sketch of my first 3 furry children. [h]
i moved on to wicker next. here's a candy basket & a magazine rack, which were both just raw wicker prior to spraying.

i don't want to part with a few of my basically worthless to anyone but me items, but i wanted to somehow make them all tie together & mesh with the newer more comtempory look i am reaching for (albeit somewhat eclectic). we'll see how it goes!
