Don't buy into the hype.
The fact that it shoots 7 pellets is the only thing it has in common with a shotgun.
Since it fires .177cal BBs that are 'effective at five to 10 feet" and "absolutely useless at 20 feet" you're basically looking at the muzzle energy of a BB gun.
All hype.
